Feature and Benefits
1. This transmitter is equipped with an internal SGI/TGI
gas library function with more than 200 substances labmeasured.
Every substance out of the instrument’s gas
library can be selected as a Measuring Gas. By this, an
optimum linearized signal output for this selected substance
is provided, over the entire measuring range.
2. Fast response of 1 second
3. The calibration of the Dräeger PIR 7000 will be done using
the selected calibration gas as basis for calibration (including
adjusting its sensitivity), “operating” in the Calibration
Gas linearizion. In a second step, all calibration data will
be converted internally and automatically to the selected
Measuring Gas setting. This procedure has been tested by
the notified body DEKRA EXAM. And it is certified within the
ATEX performance approval according to EN 60079-29-1.

is not a conventional sinter disc but a thin wire mesh
disc so that the gas to be detected can very quickly enter the
pellistors by way of diffusion.
3. Owing to the state-of-the-art design of the Dräeger PEX
3000 it is possible to open the Ex e junction box in the
hazardous area to perform maintenance and calibration.

Dräger PIR 3000
The Dräger PIR 3000 is an explosion proof infrared gas detector for
continuous monitoring of combustible gases and vapors. Based on
a stainless steel SS 316 enclosure as well as on a good measuring
performance, this transmitter offers an excellent price-performance-ratio.

Typical Aplication
1. Based on an outstanding product quality, the Dräeger
PIR 3000 provides high reliability and excellent measuring
performance, e.g. in terms of fast response and long-term
stability. The temperature range is specified from – 40 to
+ 65 °C, and, due to the heated optics, the sensor can be
operated in humid environments from 0 to 100 %RH.
2. The mounting orientation is completely flexible and the
transmitter is approved according to worldwide preferred
standards: ATEX, IECEx, UL and CSA. Weather protection
is secured by the attached splash guard, included in delivery
and certified with IP 66 and IP 67.
3. The user can choose from three different gas categories –
methane, propane and ethylene – all listed in one internal
gas library. Individual linearizion curves offer temperature compensated
readings.
